I am a senior business professional with extensive experience in various sectors, roles and international markets. My passion lies where business and digital join to better serve customers. My belief is that every organization can be improved if people work together, strategy and operations are aligned and there is a focus on innovation and renewal.
Per September 2016, I am the Chief Digital Officer at Randstad, a global leader in staffing and recruiting. This sector is digitally transforming strongly. In this role I am the focal point to lead the further development of the digital strategy and to ensure its implementation across the group globally. The role includes the function of Chief Information Officer.
I am a supervisory board member of KPMG the Netherlands. At Nyenrode University, I teach Cyber Security parttime to supervisory board members. I support several charities and advise various companies. I was a member of the global Advisory Board of IBM and a board member and president of the national CIO Platform. I was elected CIO of the Year twice in the Netherlands.
After my military service as lieutenant in the Dutch Royal Army, I started my career at Procter & Gamble, working in various national and international roles. Next, I was a senior consultant at McKinsey & Company, serving clients in the financial services, energy and other sectors. Before joining Rabobank, I served as Chief Information Officer at Essent, the leading energy utility in The Netherlands. At Rabobank, I have been a Senior Executive Vice President and the Chief Information Officer of the group. Next to the IT role, I had various senior business responsibilities and was a member of the Supervisory Boards of Rabobank Brazil and Chile. Since 2014 I have also been responsible for global business Innovation in the group.
I studied Business Administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, I am married with 3 children and live in Amstelveen, The Netherlands.
